16-year-old arrested for gun possession in Falmouth


FALMOUTH
– Falmouth Police report that they stopped a minivan at 10:10 PM on Tuesday for a traffic violation on Teaticket Highway. During the stop one of the five occupants was reaching for or concealing something on the floor between the seats. As a result, the passenger was removed from the vehicle and a loaded pistol was found near the previous location of his feet.

The 16-year-old male passenger from Bourne was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. The 19-year-old male operator was issued a citation for operating negligently to endanger and failing to stop at a stop sign. He was also issued a by-law citation for open container of marijuana in a vehicle and possession of a Class D substance (marijuana)(1 oz. or less). 

The illegally possessed firearm, an IAG .22 caliber Semi-Automatic Pistol, and the ammunition were seized.
