BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable School Committee will officially have a new member as of Wednesday.
The Barnstable Town Council and the school committee held a joint meeting Thursday to interview the three candidates selected as finalists for a vacant position.
Barbara Dunn was the unanimous choice of the group among three finalists that included Susanne Conley and Edith LaBran.
All three candidates were asked the same three questions and offered an opportunity to give a closing statement.
Dunn will be sworn in for her official duties prior to the School Committee meeting on February 7th.
The four-year term was open after Margeaux Weber resigned from her seat on the committee just hours after taking office for a third term in December. Weber was unopposed in her re-election bid in November.
Weber spent 8 years on the board and served as its chairwoman for 6 of those years.
