BOURNE – Barnstable Sheriff’s Office inmates recently provided construction labor at this pumping station at the Buzzards Bay Water District in Bourne. Work included converting a former vehicle garage into space to house the pump, with insulation added to ensure the pump won’t freeze and malfunction in cold weather. Deputy Sheriff Blaise Cabral and his four-man inmate crew were able to make this a quick, one-day job, saving Water District ratepayers approximately $1,100 in labor costs.
