HYANNIS – At about 2:45 PM Friday afternoon, there was a 2 vehicle accident at Route 28 & Pitchers Way in Hyannis. A BMW sedan appeared to have collided with a Mercedes SUV. The driver of the BMW, who reportedly was unrestrained and struck the windshield, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening. The driver and passenger of the Mercedes were treated and released at the scene. Traffic was backed up in both directions until the scene was cleared. Barnstable Police are investigating are investigating the crash.
