CHATHAM – A large power outage was affecting people in the “elbow” of the Cape sometime after 2 PM. A pole fire was reported in the area which may have been the cause of 3,7oo losing power. 1,800 of those were in Chatham and 1,600 in Orleans with smaller outages in Brewster and Harwich. Heavy rains have been moving through the area but it not immediately clear if the weather was to blame. The outage was reduced to about 2,000 by 3 PM and down to 100 by 3:30 PM.
