TRURO – A surfer was injured at Coast Guard Beach in Truro Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, sometime after 2 PM the victim apparently was struck by his board and then became tangled in the safety rope. Bystanders pulled the man from the water and called 911. The victim was reportedly unconscious for a time but was alert when rescuers arrived. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital by ambulance. Further details were not immediately available.
