BREWSTER – The Brewster Recycling Committee will meet tomorrow afternoon to discuss banning plastic bags in town.
The session will include a report on the Committee’s forum and an update on the joint effort by the Recycling Committee and the Brewster Chamber of Commerce to encourage local businesses to voluntarily stop using single use plastic bags in lieu of passing a bag ban like those in 13 other Cape towns.
Commission Chair Meg Morris, who is also a part time Chamber employee says “We agree with the Chamber that we’d rather our businesses just move away from the single use bags to either paper bags or reusable bags rather than another regulation to be created and enforced.”
The public is invited to the meeting, scheduled for Thursday, September 20th, at 3:00 in Room B at the Brewster Town Hall.
