PLYMOUTH – The Shaw’s Supermarket chain is closing four stores in New England and one of the stores slated to shutter is the Plymouth location on Pilgrim Hill Road.
The chain says that it is also closing stores in Leominster and Lynn along with a store in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
In a statement, officials with the company said: “While the decision to close a store is always difficult – given the impact on employees and customers – it was made after careful evaluation and guided by what is best for the company’s ongoing success and future growth.”
The company currently has 153 locations in five New England states.
