MARSTONS MILLS – From Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire: At 5 PM Wednesday evening COMM Fire received a report of a 2 vehicle crash with multiple injuries from a off-duty COMM firefighter who was on scene. The crash was reported on Falnouth Road (Route 28) between South County Road and Route 149. COMM Fire dispatched 2 ambulances, 1 engine, and 1 command vehicle. We found two vehicles involved in a rear end collision with moderate damage to the front vehicle (SUV), major damage with airbag deployment to the rear vehicle (sedan) and a total of 5 people in the vehicles. Personnel began treatment of the victims and 2 additional ambulances were requested. COMM Fire transported 3 patients, 1 adult, and 1 child to Cape Cod Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries, and 1 child to CCH with non-life threatening injuries. Cotuit Fire transported 1 child to CCH with non-life threatening injuries. One victim refused treatment. The engine crew cleaned up a significant fluid spill from the rear vehicle and cleared the scene once the vehicle was removed. Barnstable Police were on scene with traffic control and crash investigation.
