WELLFLEET – The reconstruction of Outer Cape Health Services’ Wellfleet health center has been completed.
The new Wellfleet health center is expected to be open for patient visits Wednesday, June 19, pending approval from the state’s Department of Public Health.
The project was a complete rebuild of the former 5,000 square-foot center, with modern technology, furnishings and reconfigured space.
A 2,500 square-foot addition increased the standard size of nine patient exam rooms and two behavioral health consultation rooms.
The site plan will also allow for a more coordinated and efficient term-based medical experience.
The facility will include a modern diagnostic lab and a Healthy Connections office to assist the community with health insurance eligibility and enrollment.
The center is accepting new primary care and behavioral health patients from the Lower and Outer Cape. Most insurances are accepted.
OCHS operates community health centers in Harwich Port, Provincetown and Wellfleet.
A private ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Friday.
