Falmouth officials investigating RV fire in wooded area off Trotting Park Drive

FALMOUTH – Falmouth Firefighters had a difficult time getting to the scene of a fire in the woods off Trotting Park Road about 6:45 PM Sunday. An RV and at least one other vehicle and some brush were burning. Officials were able to reach the scene in a brush breaker and get the situation under control.

Falmouth Fire-Rescue reports that Engine 21, Breaker 18, Car 28 responded to a reported vehicle fire in a vacant parcel of land between Trotting Park Road and Gifford Street. Crews were hampered gaining access to the fire by dense underbrush and trees. Upon reaching the fire area they found two motor vehicles involved. The first being a camper and the second a Jeep SUV. Both vehicles appeared to be abandoned. The fire was extinguished and the incident remains under investigation by the Falmouth Fire Rescue Fire Investigation Div. and the Falmouth Police Department.
