FALMOUTH – From Falmouth Fire-Rescue: Thursday afternoon on March 16 just before 4:00 PM, Falmouth Emergency Communications Center received a commercial fire alarm activation for 198 Thomas B. Lander Road. Engine 25 and Engine 21 were dispatched. Engine 25 upon arrival noted a smoke condition coming from a concrete and metal two-bay commercial garage. Engine 25 requested the call be upgraded to a first alarm assignment which added Engines 23, Engine 24, Ladder 26, Ambulance 38, and Joint Base Cape Cod Engine 410 to the incident. A small fire was located within one of the garage bays and was quickly extinguished. The fire appears to have originated in a makeshift spray booth inside the bay. The fire remains under investigation by the department’s Fire Investigation Unit. Townwide station coverage was provided by Bourne Fire Rescue Engine 121 and Sandwich Fire Rescue Ambulance 458 at Station 1, Cotuit Fire Rescue Engine 265 at Station 5, and Onset Fire Rescue Engine 1 at Station 3.
