Video: Vehicle fire slows traffic on Route 28 in Bourne

BOURNE – A vehicle fire slowed traffic on Route 28 in Bourne. The reported fully involved electric vehicle fire was reported about 2:15 PM Wednesday at Battles Buick GMC south of the State Police rotary. No injuries were reported.

From Bourne Police: At approximately 2:18 PM, Bourne Police Department’s Dispatch Center received 9-1-1 calls for a vehicle fire at Battle’s GMC on MacArthur Blvd. Officers responded and observed an EV pickup truck (2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali) parked in the rear lot, fully engulfed in flames. Bourne Fire Department arrived on scene, quickly contained the fire but it took several hours to fully extinguish the vehicle. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately known but does not appear to be suspicious.

We would like to recognize the great job by the Bourne Fire Department and their mutual aid partners for their fast response and rapid control over a difficult vehicle fire.
