HYANNIS – Hyannis Firefighters were called to the Resort and Conference Center at 35 Scudder Avenue about 5:45 p.m. after smoke was found coming out of a mechanical room near the workout area. The hotel was temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Crews determined a faulty air condition unit was to blame. The unit was shut down and smoke ventilated.
