TISBURY – A house fire was reported on Border Road in Tisbury sometime after 9 p.m. A house was well involved in flames when crews arrived. Additional firefighters on the island were called to the scene. One firefighter was taken to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for evaluation. Several others were evaluated at the scene for possible dehydration and heat related issues. Crews were able to quickly knock down the flames and keep them from spreading to an adjacent building. Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road was closed from the round-a-bout in Oak Bluffs to Park Avenue in Tisbury while crews fought the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
