PROVINCETOWN – A South Wellfleet man was arraigned in Orleans District Court Tuesday after an incident in Provincetown last Friday. Police were called to Ross’ Grill inside Whaler’s Wharf on Commercial Street shortly before 7 p.m. for a reported disturbance between two men. Provincetown police tell Cape Wide News that it was alleged that 65-year-old Michael L. Walczak threw a bowl of hot soup at the victim in an apparently unprovoked attack. The victim was treated at the scene for minor burns. Because the victim is over 60, Walczak was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.
