FALMOUTH – Firefighters were called to Clover Landscaping at 90 Davis Straits about 8:15 p.m. after fire erupted in the rear of the building. The fire was quickly knocked down but crews had to check for extension and make sure everyone got out safely. The fire may have started in a dumpster in the rear of the building. Scaffolding appeared to indicate the building was undergoing renovation.
Mutual aid from surrounding departments responded to the scene and covered the Falmouth stations during the fire. The State Fire Marshal’s office was requested to investigate the cause of the fire. Davis Straits was closed in the area forcing traffic to take alternate routes.
