YARMOUTH – Firefighters were called to the Briarwood Condos at 441 Buck Island Road shortly before 3 PM. Heavy smoke was showing from building H after an initial report of a roof fire. The fire was appeared to be in the attic area near some vents for the heating systems. A dog and a cat were removed safely from a top floor apartment. The roof was opened up to check for extension and for ventilation. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Hyannis and Centerville engines responded mutual aid along with a Brewster ambulance.
