FALMOUTH – From Falmouth Fire-Rescue (FFRD): Just before noon today, FFRD units were dispatched to 426 Menahaunt Road for a building fire. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from a large 2.5 story building. Several attack lines were stretched, and interior crews found heavy fire conditions in a rear bedroom extending to the attic space above. A working fire assignment brought mutual aid from Joint Base Cape Cod FD (JBCC) and Mashpee Fire Departments. During the fire, the JBCC Engine was dispatched to a medical call in North Falmouth along with a Bourne ambulance, and Falmouth E23 handled a medical call downtown with the assistance of a Cotuit ambulance. The fire was knocked down in approx 20 mins. There were no injuries. The fire is not suspicious and is being investigated by the FFRD and Falmouth Police.
