HARWICH – A couple in an inflatable boat were tossed into Nantucket Sound off Sea street about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. They were reportedly switching positions in the boat when the inflatable moved suddenly. The man, Scott Cipolla, 48, of Newburypott was able to swim to the Sea Street beach but his female companion Sherry Allen, 47, was having a difficult time swimming. The Harwich Harbormaster was able to rescue Allen about two miles offshore. Harwich Police and Harwich Fire rushed to Saqautucket Harbor where she was brought in. Harwich Rescue transported her to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. Officials say neither were wearing their life jackets at the time.
