FALMOUTH – Police in Falmouth are investigating a two-car crash that took place on (Nathan Ellis Highway (Route 151) at Sam Turner Road at 12:10 PM.
Upon arrival, officers determined two vehicles were involved in the crash and both were on their side. One person was flown by MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital Three others were transported to Falmouth Hospital by Falmouth Fire & Rescue to Falmouth Hospital. One of those victims was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The vehicles include a 2001 BMW and a 2006 Ford F-350 Pickup with a trailer. The pickup is owned by the Town of Falmouth and was being operated by the Marine and Environmental Services Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section and the Falmouth Police Department.
Route 151 was closed between Boxberry Hill Road and Ballymeade, while Sam Turner Road from Route 151 to Caravel Drive was also closed. The roads reopened about 4:15 PM.
