Chatham man charged with multiple break-ins

sullivankennethmCHATHAM – Chatham police report that on Wednesday at approximately 5:30 p.m., Chatham Police were called to a residence on Old Queen Anne Road for a reported housebreak in progress. Officers arrived and met with the victim, an 18-year-old male, who was able to identify the suspect.

The victim told police that he was home at the time the suspect entered the victim’s residence. The victim stated that he hid inside his residence. The victim heard the suspect go through several of the rooms in the home. The victim identified the suspect, who is a neighbor. (CPD will not be releasing the information on the victim).

The suspect was identified as: Kenneth M. Sullivan, (Age: 67, Old Queen Anne Road, Chatham). Mr. Sullivan is a neighbor of the victim.

Upon police investigation it was determined that a small amount of cash was stolen from the residence.

Mr. Sullivan was arrested and charged with:
Breaking and Entering (Daytime) to Commit a Felony
Larceny from a Building

Further investigation resulted in additional charges of:
Breaking and Entering (Daytime) to Commit a Felony
(For a crime that was committed at the same victim’s residence several days earlier).

Mr. Sullivan was arraigned at Orleans District Court on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, and has been scheduled to reappear on November 30, 2015.
