WEST DENNIS – Multiple agencies were called to West Dennis Beach some time after 7:30 p.m. Monday. The call came after a kiteboard was reportedly found in the water by other kitesurfers. The concern was for a possible person in the water.
Dennis Police and Fire, Yarmouth Fire and Yarmouth Department of Natural Resources all participated in the search. The Coast Guard was notified.
The photo above shows Dennis Fire Department Boat 118 heading from Bass River into Nantucket Sound.
About 8:15 p.m., the owner of the board was located safe on shore. He reportedly told authorities he had lost the board earlier in the day.
