Disturbance at Wareham bar leads to arrest on drug charges

WAREHAM – A Wareham man is facing several drug charges after a disturbance Sunday at a local bar.

Wareham Police responded to Shenanigan’s Bar and Grill around 10:30 p.m. for a reported incident involving 2 males fighting in the parking lot.

On arrival, officers noticed an apparently intoxicated male in the parking lot who said he had been involved in a fight with another male who since left the scene.

The male, identified as 47 year old Danye Thomas, was placed into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant.

During booking procedures at the police station, Thomas was found to be in possession of approximately 19 grams of cocaine packaged for sale, 4 Oxycontin pills, and 10 Oxycodone pills, along with $100 cash.

Thomas was subsequently charged with the following:

  1. Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B Substance Subsequent Offense

(Oxycontin).

  1. Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B Substance, Subsequent Offense

(Oxycodone)

  1. Trafficking Cocaine Over 18 grams

He was scheduled to be arraigned on the criminal charges

at Wareham District Court.
