YARMOUTH – An apparent transformer failure caused a large power outage in the town of Yarmouth early Friday afternoon. Over 8,000 customers were out at the peak of the outage. Police were kept busy responding to alarms and monitoring traffic at busy intersections without traffic lights. No serious issues were reported. As of 4 p.m. the power appeared to have been completely restored.
