FALMOUTH – Falmouth Police report that a fishermen was attempting to unhook a shark he had caught, when the shark bit his foot. At 11:27 PM on Thursday, a man was fishing from the shore of Menauhant Beach in East Falmouth when he caught what is believed to be a sand shark. After reeling the shark to shore he began to unhook it from the line. That’s when the shark bit his right foot. The 34-year-old from Swansea sustained non-life threatening lacerations to his right foot. Falmouth Fire/Rescue Deputy Scott Thrasher said the victim was transported to Falmouth Hospital with a minor foot injury.
