BOURNE – Bourne Police report that Officer Lee Desrosiers, off-duty Saturday evening, was standing outside his home when he heard the sound of a fire alarm coming from one of his neighbors’ houses on Sachem Drive. Upon checking the house and detecting the smell of smoke, Officer Desrosiers entered the home and discovered the first floor bathroom involved in fire. Officer Desrosiers acted quickly and extinguished the fire before it could spread. The Bourne Fire Department arrived on-scene and ensured there was no further extension of fire and ventilated the smoke from the building. No injuries were reported.
