EAST FALMOUTH – At about 3:38 p.m. on Thursday, a resident of Bourne’s Pond Road reported finding an “old ammunition shell” on the beach. Falmouth Police responded, and later contacted the Mass State Police Hazardous Devices Unit. The Bomb Technicians then moved the device to the Town of Falmouth Leaf Dump on Blacksmith Shop Road where it was detonated.
