PACU officers arrest two for cocaine transaction

ya103015 compYARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Thrusday at approximately 3:40 p.m., Patrol Officers Sean Geary and Michael Wells assigned to the Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) observed Massachusetts registration 1JN758 a blue Ford Freestyle parked in the parking lot of Reebok at 174 Route 28 in West Yarmouth.

Inside the vehicle were two people known to police for previous illegal drug use and arrests.  Flavio H. Gambarotto-Santana, with 37 prior charges with open cases for home invasion and firearms crimes; and Ivan Ramiro, with 7 priors including open cases for heroin and cocaine distribution.

Officers observed an exchange and money transaction being made and encountered both subjects. Found on one subject was a knotted plastic baggy with a white powder inside of it determined to be 1 gram of cocaine.  Gambarotto-Santana, 20, of West Yarmouth (left) and Ramiro, 26, of Hyannis (right) were placed under arrest on charges of possession of a Class B substance (cocaine) and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. They were both transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters. Both were scheduled for arraignment today in the Barnstable District Court.
