Portraits of Valor delivered to Yarmouth Police

YARMOUTH
– From Yarmouth Police: “We had a very special and emotional visit this morning at YPD Headquarters.

Our friend Tom O’ Connor of Brotherhood For The Fallen of Boston hand delivered these two stunning paintings of fallen Yarmouth Police Sergeant Sean M. Gannon and United States Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos.

Both paintings were done by Philadelphia Police Officer and Forensic Composite Artist Jonny Castro as part of his nationwide ‘Portraits of Valor’ project started by Castro in 2016 to honor fallen Philadelphia Police Sergeant Robert Wilson III who was also shot and killed in the line of duty.

Since his portrait, Officer Castro has created over 200 portraits of fallen Police Officers, Firefighters, and Military Members killed in action while serving our nation.

The project is all done in his free time and are completed at no charge.

Officer Castro started doing this with the goal of making sure that people understand the human side of Police Officers.

Every time one of these paintings is finished, there’s a child who will never get to hug their mother or father again; a parent making final arrangements to bury their son; or a department struggling with the loss of their colleague.

“As long as I am able, I will continue to honor these heroes through art.”

Thank you Philadelphia Police Officer Jonny Castro…the men and women of the Yarmouth Police Department and the Gannon and Xiarhos families are honored and forever grateful.

Heroes Live Forever…”
