DENNIS
From Dennis Police: Friday at 1:01 PM, the Dennis Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle crash on Old Bass River Road where it intersects with Captain Walsh Road. On arrival, officers found two vehicles in the roadway which had collided head on, with one of the vehicles on fire. The responding Dennis Fire Department units quickly extinguished the vehicle fire, and began treatment of the single occupants of each vehicle, who were both ultimately transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2017 Honda Ridgeline, operating south on Old Bass River Road by a 67-year-old woman from Dennis, crossed over the center line and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, being operated north on Old Bass River Road by a 76-year-old man from Dennis.

The road was closed while the crash was investigated and cleaned by personnel from the Dennis Department of Public Works.
