CHATHAM – Lifeguards from across Cape Cod competed in the Annual Cape Cod Lifesaving Competition on Friday.
This year’s event took place at Harding’s Beach in Chatham and included teams from Falmouth to the Cape Cod National Seashore.
The event tests the skills of the men and women who protect Cape Cod beaches each summer through a variety of contests.
The competition is divided between surf beaches (National Seashore/Nauset Beach/Wellfleet/Truro/Nantucket) and non-surf beaches (Barnstable/Yarmouth/Dennis/Chatham/Falmouth/Harwich/Sandwich/Mashpee)
Results were expected late in the afternoon on Friday. (Late word is the Cape Cod National Seashore lifeguards won).

4 Women’s Paddleboard Rescue
5 Men’s Paddleboard Rescue
6 Co-ed Swim Relay
7 Co-ed Run/Paddle
8 Co-ed Run/Swim/Run
9 Co-ed Paddleboard Relay
10 Women’s Swim Rescue
11 Men’s Swim Rescue
12 Iron Woman Relay
13 Iron Man Relay
