YARMOUTH – Through the use of their CodeRED automated phone call system as well as Social Media, the Yarmouth Police Department will be providing Monthly Crime Prevention tips starting next month and continuing throughout the year.
Through the CodeRED system, town agencies can send out important automated telephone messages quickly and efficiently and the high-speed telephone calling system is capable of making several thousand calls per hour to traditional landline phones and cell phones.
The purpose of these Crime Prevention messages is to maximize public awareness and educate our citizens about potential crime trends and ways to combat becoming a victim.
Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Mary Gibney (pictured) will lead the program and will be making the monthly automated phone call. Patrol Officer Gibney is a 10-year veteran of the Yarmouth Police Department and a graduate the 48th Session of the Plymouth Police Academy Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee Municipal Police Officer Class. Patrol Officer Gibney earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice at Westfield State University, is a certified Sexual Assault Investigator and Emergency Medical Technician, and also a friend and trainer of adopted and rescued animals.
