Spirit Winter Percussion, a Orleans-based ensemble of 28 members ages 12-22, led by Richard K. Pugsley (Director) and Ian Hale (Percussion Director), took home the silver medal at the Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

Scoring 95.05 in finals competition, Spirit WP placed second in the Percussion Independent Open Class in the competition that draws more than 12,000 participants from all over the world.

SpiritWP brought a crowd of thousands to its feet, in person and via live webcast, with their breathtaking, action-packed portrayal of “Aggression” – their 2016 show, exploring the destructive, honorable, and pure aspects of aggression.

Spirit Winter Percussion is open to any young person under age 22. The ensemble regularly offers school assemblies and public performances for the wider Cape Cod community and hosts an annual Day of Percussion featuring world-class percussion artists for a day of free clinics and performances offered to students throughout New England.
