HYANNIS PORT – The Eugenia Fortes Beach way to water has been temporarily closed by Barnstable officials due to nesting shore birds.
The town is prohibiting vehicles from driving on the beach to launch vessels in order to protect the endangered animals.
Officials noted that the temporary closure will be lifted as soon as possible.
