HYANNIS – Residents and visitors to Barnstable may soon be able to get a cup of coffee or some gas between 1 and 3 a.m.

Barnstable Town Council will hold a public hearing Thursday to discuss a possible repeal of the ordinance, known as Chapter 15, which requires businesses to close during the two hour time period.

It was adopted in 2006 to discourage rowdy gatherings after bars close.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
