Blanton Pleads Guilty in Second Assault Case

FALMOUTH – Former Bourne Selectmen Michael Blanton pleaded guilty to a second domestic violence assault on Tuesday in Falmouth District Court.

The latest charge stemmed from an incident in late 2017 where Blanton was accused of attacking his girlfriend.

He was sentenced to 2 ½ years in jail with nine months to serve.

Blanton was already behind bars after being found guilty by a jury last year on separate charges of assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime.

In that case, Judge Lisa Edmonds sentenced the Monument Beach resident to 2 ½ years behind bars, 9 months to serve.

Blanton was arrested last February on the charges, some of which were related to an incident the year before.
