HYANNIS – Cape Abilities has received a $10,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.
The award through the bank’s Economic Mobility for Individuals and Families initiative will support the organization’s Employment & Vocational Skills Training program at Cape Abilities Farm in Dennis.
Cape Abilities works to serve individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod by educating, counseling and providing residential, therapeutic, social and employment supports that empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in the community.
“As an agency, we are committed to creating a path to competitive community employment for people with disabilities,” said Jonathan Sproul, the president and executive director at Cape Abilities. “Funding from the BACF allows us to provide more supports and training than currently funded by the Commonwealth’s disability agencies, and permits us to remain focused on a person-centered, vocational training approach that incorporates the goals and interests of each individual.”
