HYANNIS – A professionally trained musician and non-profit executive has been tapped to be President and CEO of Cape Arts and Entertainment.
The parent organization of the Cape Symphony & Conservatory named Jonathan Kaledin to the position this week, which he will begin on October 16.
“My vision is to really have an arts and culture organization on our hands that is multi-dimensional in the fullest sense possible,” said Kaledin.
He currently sits on the Board of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra and has been a board member of the Albany Chapter of the New York League of Conservation Voters.
During his musical career, Kaledin played in the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and substituted in the Albany Symphony Orchestra.
He said he’s excited to get started in his new position.
“I think that what we’re going to have to do and what I’m very excited about doing, is really supporting the community that supports the orchestra and the conservatory, we’re going to have to explore how to get them even more deeply embedded within the region and the communities within the region, than they currently are,” said Kaledin.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jon, and fulfilling our vision for an orchestra whose mission is to bring joy and humanity to everyone,” said Artistic Director & Conductor Jung-Ho Pak.
“Jon fully embraces this ambitious goal, and will support our team efforts moving forward.”
During his thirty-plus years as a business executive and lawyer in the environmental field, Kaledin served as the Executive Director of the Boston-based National Water Education/Funding Council, Executive Director of the Alliance for Water Stewardship, the New York Regional Counsel for The Nature Conservancy, General Counsel of Environmental Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and Executive Vice President/General Counsel of Natural Systems Utilities in Princeton, New Jersey.

His experience as a fellow artist and respected administrator will serve us well as we move toward a more unified future for the organization,” said Stephanie Weaver, Executive Director of the Cape Conservatory.
Kaledin received his B.A. in Music from Harvard University, and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He has three children, Clayton, Nina and Sarah, and is married to Nathalie Touze-Kaledin.
