Cape Cod Charitable FunRaisers Announces Closure

HYANNIS – The Cape Cod Charitable FunRaisers has announced its closure at the end of the year.

The original founder of Cape Cod Charitable FunRaisers (CCCF) retired two years ago.

As the board of directors continued to produce Roll the Rock, Last Gasp and Spectacle of Trees, they were given support from the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce.

In 2017 the Chamber provided staff, office space, accounting all at no cost to CCCF. In 2017, CCCF hired Kasey Boyle as event manager on an interim basis until a long-term solution could be found to sustain and grow the fundraising network.

After the Spectacle of Trees this year, the CCCF will close its doors and turn over all of its events and activities to the Barnstable Charitable Foundation.

That group is already gearing up to operate the events next year. Kasey Boyle and Guy Morse have taken positions on the Board of Directors of the new foundation to make sure the transition is smooth. The structure for participation in the events and the costs will remain the same for next year.

Who is the Barnstable Charitable Foundation? The Barnstable Charitable Foundation is a new Foundation with 4 objectives:

1.Raise and distribute funds as scholarships for area high school students and adults seeking continuing education.

2.Operate YEA! ™, Youth Entrepreneur Academy, for students 13-18 years exposing them to entrepreneurship so that they may consider entrepreneurship as a career option for a life on Cape Cod.

3.To operate events for area nonprofits to enable maximum fundraising so that our area continues to enjoy a strong nonprofit eco-system as part of a healthy community.

4.Take on special civic projects to improve and beautify our communities.

The new board has decided to contract with the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce to produce the events for next year. Beneficiary organizations and donors will benefit from normal 9-5 daily office hours, a team of people involved in the production of the events and strong contacts throughout the community to help promote beneficiary organizations.

Three of the seven board members will be from the Chamber of Commerce to ensure a strong connection with the Chamber’s staff who will produce the events. As mentioned, Kasey Boyle and Guy Morse from CCCF will join the new board and recruitment for two additional board members is now underway.

The Cape Cod Charitable FunRaisers is proud of its history helping other non-profits to raise money for their causes and is confident that this new direction will sustain that effort long into the future.
