Cape Cod Commission Holding Public Meeting on Courtyard Marriott Expansion

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Commission will hold a public meeting Thursday afternoon on the proposed expansion of the Courtyard Marriott in Hyannis.

If approved, a two-story, 31,000 square foot addition would be built at the hotel on Route 132. 49 new rooms would be added on to the existing 78,000 square foot building.

The project needs approval from the Cape Cod Commission as it falls under the scope of a Development of Regional Impact. The Commission must approve any development over 10,000 square feet.

The plan also calls for a reconfiguration of the access to the property from Route 132 and adding new rows of parking.

Thursday’s meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Assembly of Delegates meeting room at the First District Courthouse in Barnstable Village.
