HYANNIS – Cape Cod’s own Spirit Winter Percussion took home the bronze medal at the Winter Guard International Percussion World Championship in Dayton, Ohio this past weekend.
Up against over 12,000 participants from across the world and led by director Richard K. Pugsley, the percussion group scored a 95.638 in the final round with their performance titled “All the Colors in the Box.”
The performance began with each member of the percussion group dawning the same outfit and ended with each individual member in their own uniquely colored outfit.
Pat Metheny’s jazz piece, “The Way Up,” was the musical number the group performed during the championship performance.
Spirit winter percussion is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary season on Cape Cod.
