Charity Vintage Golf Tourney Announced

SANDWICH – The inaugural “Cape Cod Vintage Classic” Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Monday May 14, from 10 to 6 at the Ridge Club in Sandwich.

The money raised will go towards supporting less fortunate local children wanting to attend summer camp.

This new style of tournament, which is popping up around the country, has each foursome provided with a 1920’s set of golf clubs to be used during play.

Many people have found a renewed joy for the game while using these hickory shafted golf clubs from another era.  With all of the golf tournaments that take place on the Cape, the organizers wanted to give the players something out of the ordinary.

The cost is $250 per player which includes a BBQ luncheon, access to a free beverage cart, scotch tasting, and hor d’oeuvres.

There will also be free contests, with prizes like a seven night stay in a top resort for two people and a Pebble Beach vacation.

A grand finale drawing will take place with four lucky players  getting to participate in a $100,000 shoot out for a hole in one.
