Coast Guard Responds to Fishing Boat Aground Off Falmouth

FALMOUTH – A New Bedford-based fishing boat ran aground off Falmouth early Thursday morning near the Sippewissett Creek.

A Coast Guard spokeswoman said the 79-foot “Lady Patricia” went aground shortly after midnight.

A Coast Guard boat from Station Woods Hole responded to the scene but was not needed.

The one person on board, the captain, was able to stay on board until the boat was refloated. There were no injuries.
