Fentanyl Provider Headed for Prison

BARNSTABLE – A South Dennis MAN was sentenced to 2.5 to 3 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter and distribution of fentanyl. 26 year old Luke Stratton will also serve 3 years probation upon his release.

Stratton pleaded guilty in Barnstable Superior Court after reaching a deal with the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.

The charges stem from an incident in March of 2017 in which Stratton provided fentanyl to an acquaintance who Stratton knew had experienced prior overdoses. The acquaintance overdosed and subsequently died of acute fenatnyl and alcohol intoxication from injecting the drug provided by Stratton.
