Forum Planned on Struggle to Find Seasonal Workers

HYANNIS – The League of Women Voters of Cape Cod Area is hosting a panel discussion this weekend on the annual struggle to find seasonal workers to fill summer jobs on Cape Cod.

The organization said that tightening government regulations on H-2B visas for foreign workers has caused numerous issues with the Cape economy, particularly small businesses.

The panel will provide the latest information.

The discussion will take place on February 9th from 9:30 – 11:30 am at the Harwich Cultural Center.

Panelists will include Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Wendy Northcross, U.S. Rep. Bill Keating, Cape and Islands State Senator Julian Cyr and a representative of Mac’s Seafood from Wellfleet.
