DENNIS – Over 50 recent gifts of art will be exhibited by the Cape Cod Museum of Art until February 11th.
The items will also be added to the museum’s permanent collection.
They are the works by people who have a significant place in the Cape’s art history, and well-known contemporary artists. The CCMoA’s Director said their mission is to preserve the Cape’s strong artistic identity.
The donations include 13 works from the Robert Spohn collection by local artists, dating from the early 20th century through today.
There are also white-line wood block prints, a technique created on the Cape.
The museum’s permanent collection on Hope Lane in Dennis includes over 2000 pieces from regional artists.
