Gosnold Eyes Former Falmouth Nursing Home for New Treatment Center

FALMOUTH – Gosnold on Cape Cod has announced plans to expand their services in Falmouth with the purchase of the former Royal Health Group nursing home, located on Jones Road.

The new facility, which is being bought by a private investor and donated to the organization, will allow Gosnold to more than double the number of beds they can offer from 49 to 99.

“We have identified that with all that’s going on in the world with the opioid crisis we just don’t have enough access beds for the patients who are in need, particularly on the Cape.” said Gosnold President and CEO Richard Curcuru.

The new location, next to an elementary school in town has already drawn ire from some within the community, and the purchase still requires approval from the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals.

Should things go to plan, the non-profit addiction treatment center would begin renovations this fall and open in early 2019. They intend to offed 54 detox beds, 15 for rehabilitation, and another 30 dual diagnosis beds for patients with both addiction and mental health issues.

The public is being invited to take part in an informational meeting regarding the potential new facility this Thursday at the Falmouth Public Library at 6 PM.
