BUZZARDS BAY – Gov. Charlie Baker will deliver the commencement address this June for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Class of 2016.
In addition to the speech, Baker will also receive an honorary degree from the Buzzards Bay school.
Another honorary degree will be awarded to Major Paul Kelly, a retiring member of the MMA board of trustees. Kelly is also a Vietnam War veteran.
Retired Coast Guard Vice Admiral Manson Brown, an assistant secretary of commerce in the Obama administration, will also receive an honorary degree, according to a school spokesman.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy graduation will take place on June 18 at the campus on Taylor’s Point.
