HYANNIS – A Hyannis man with a lengthy criminal history was indicted by a Barnstable Superior Court grand jury this week.
Anthony Russ, 27, was indicted on five charges stemming from an incident in April in which he threatened a woman on her way to her wedding because he wanted to meet with her fiance, David Anthony Colon. Colon was murdered two months after the incident.
Russ faces charges of attempted extortion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault by dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and malicious destruction.
In 2010, Russ was tried and acquitted of the murder of Jacques Sellers, who was shot to death in Hyannis.
